This year will be my tenth year showing pigs. I have shown pigs at the state and county levels. Throughout my career, I have placed in the top three in showmanship at the county fair every year, I have won Reserve Heavy Weight Barrow and Reserve Heavy Weight Gilt, and I was the Premier Swine Exhibitor in 2017.

When it comes to Show Pigs, there are many different breeds and builds. Each breed has their own unique characteristics and can eventually display soundness, but it is often easier and better accomplished by cross breeding. When two or more different breeds are combined, characteristics of each breed shine through.

It is my experience that the build that wins has a balance of soundness with a slightly rounded muscular build. Most judges prefer this balance, while a few others prefer one quality slightly more than the other.
